It was announced Thursday on the My Community Project website that the group pulled in a massive 1726 votes making the fitness trail project the most popular out of 35 other innovative projects up for bidding in the Bega Valley.
Tuross Head Country Club's dilapidated car park will also undergo restoration, the project sponsored by the Tuross Head Men's Shed came in second and is set to receive $53,000.
Eden Fitness Trail advocate Fiona Campbell said securing the funding for the trail was a huge win for everybody in Eden.
The proposed outdoor gym with three independent fitness hubs along Aslings Beach will include gym stations designed to suit all abilities.
"The central hub will include disabled parking, is designed with all abilities and ages in mind, it's sure to add a buzz to our community," Ms Campbell said.
Ms Campbell said applying for the grant was huge hurdle and thanked fellow EFT campaigner physiotherapist Cherie Mercado for wading through the grant application process and liaising with council who she said gave their full support.
She also thanked the community for their ongoing support, stating a recent fundraising cake stall which raised $1000 in funds proved the town was backing the project.
"It's a thrill to see the whole community is with us, we had young girls to older locals cooking up a storm for the cake stall. We are so proud of our town."
Online voting for the projects opened to the public at the end of July and Ms Campbell said the number of votes received also proved the town's persistence.
"Voting wasn't easy, and people needed to be patient with the process but they stuck with it," she said.
Having only just received the news a couple of days ago, Ms Campbell said she wasn't sure when work would begin on the trail but said the EFT group were looking forward to seeing how the project would result in an even more confident Eden.
