Food Truck Friday rolled into Bega on August 30 with a wide selection of food and drink from local artisan cooks working out of their mobile kitchens.
Sam Martin and Colleen Spillane provided the acoustic soundtracks as families and friends galore mingled and meandered around the various Sapphire Coast Food Truck Collective vans sampling their wares, chatting while waiting for their number to be called, and warming themselves at the fire pits and patio heaters dotted about the Bega sportsground car park.
Organiser Clair Mudaliar said she was "ecstatic" with the outcome of the initiative, with Bega's event just as well received as Merimbula's and Eden's.
"It was so nice how it brought the community together, even in winter," Ms Mudaliar said.
She said planning is already underway for next year, with a potential expanded schedule including Candelo and Tathra.
"People were saying they want it more often, but I reckon that takes away from the uniqueness of it so I'm sticking to winter," Ms Mudaliar said.
However, she said she'd already heard of other events in the works, encouraged by the success.
