The tumblers are supplied as parts and the work crew is charged with the task of putting the parts together. Everybody on the crew has their own job in the process. Dave and Angus drill the holes, Ryan and Nathan attach the tops and Kyle attaches the bottoms of the tumblers.
The tumblers are used by Superior Oysters to grow juvenile oysters in Merimbula Lake. Once a certain size, the oysters are moved to bags. Superior Oysters supplies metropolitan restaurants with their single seed rock oysters.
With more than 2000 tumblers to build, Tulgeen Work Crew will be on the job at Superior Oysters for a couple more weeks.
Tulgeen Work Crew provides individualised training, development opportunities and paid meaningful employment for people with a NDIS Plan.
