Group 16 chairman Allan Wilton said it was a tense finish to the season with some results having a bearing on the finals make-up for the year with the Roosters ending Moruya's chances in the top five.
"The Roosters ended Moruya Sharks' aspirations for a semi-final position with a hard-fought 22-20 win at Ack Weyman Oval," Mr Wilton said.
Zac Cuzner instantly made his return felt with a four-pointer, while second half tries to Shannon Shepherdson and Tom McMillan led the Roosters to the come-from-behind result.
"The loss for Moruya sees them drop the sixth place on the competition ladder and miss the semi-final playoffs."
While other teams were safely making the finals already, the last round has cemented the final places on the table.
The Sea Eagles carded a resounding win over the Bombala Blue Heelers with a 54-22 win.
"The Sea Eagles made it four wins in-a-row with an impressive result over last year's premiers the Blue Heelers," Mr Wilton said.
"The win sees the Sea Eagles jump clear into second place on the ladder and earns them a home ground semi-final."
The ever-dangerous fullback Kyle Shepherdson showed the way with four tries to his name, while hard-running forwards Mitch Carter and Declan Bower-Scott also featured in the try count.
Mr Wilton said Tathra will enjoy a home final in their first finals appearance in eight years with the club to host the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs this Sunday.
"The Roosters will have the bye and play the winner of that game the following weekend," he said.
The Bulldogs secured a win over the Bay Tigers to lock in the third place finish, while Mr Wilton said the Eden Tigers had "a timely win over Narooma" to clinch fifth place behind the Blue Heelers in fourth to round out the finalists.
In other grades, Bega also celebrated further success with the league-tag Chicks able to lock in the minor premiership, rounding out a neat all-Bega end of year award.
The Chicks put on a masterclass of speed and agility to outdo their Moruya Sharkettes opponents with a lively 40-0 result to cap off the year.
A trio of tries to the Dummett sisters Aleesha and Alanna set up the result, while Joccoaa Taylor chimed in with two handy four pointers and a swag of conversion kicks to cap off the successful season.
