My Black Dog has been developed to support youth mental health in regional and remote locations, seeking to break down stigma and help generate conversation on an issue that is often difficult to talk about.
On Monday, Fling's co-artistic director Gabrielle Rose said the cast was in a good place ready for performances and she thought the show was shaping up to be amazing.
"We've worked really long hours on getting the whole technical side together," she said.
"We're all feeling really excited, and maybe a little bit nervous.
"But ultimately we're all really proud of this work.
"The cast have give a lot, sharing their own experiences and making sure there's an authentic depiction of what's going on.
"Just to reiterate we can't tell everyone's experiences, our show can't solve the problem but we do hope it will start a conversation."
In related news, in the recent Bega Valley ClubGRANTS presentation Fling received funding to support My Black Dog.
Ms Rose said the funding would subsidise the school performances making them free for students, as well as support production costs and transport for students attending the shows.
My Black Dog is on every night from Tuesday to Saturday, August 13-17 at 6pm at the Bega Showground Pavilion, Bega.
