A Far South Coast man has been refused bail in Batemans Bay Local Court on a charge of attempted murder.

Shane Russell Smith, 50, was charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to murder, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving in a dangerous manner and driving recklessly or furiously or at a dangerous speed or manner.
Bail was not applied for on Friday, August 9, and the authorised court officer formally refused it.
Smith is due to appear via audio-visual link in Bega Court on Tuesday, August 13.
Police will allege that Smith committed offences on Saturday, August 3, on a rural property at Pericoe, near Eden.
He was arrested at Bega Police Station about 3.20pm, Thursday, August 8.
Court papers list Smith's address as, Tubbut, in Victoria, but police will allege he was a housemate of the alleged victim at Pericoe.
Police will allege that between 6pm and 6.15pm, Smith caused grievous bodily harm with the intent to murder Zac Harris.
Police will allege Smith drove a 2008 Toyota Landcruiser recklessly or furiously in a manner dangerous to the public upon Gumflat Rd, Pericoe.
They allege Smith's vehicle was involved in impact occasioning greivous bodily harm to the alleged victim.
They allege Smith at the time was driving the vehicle in a manner dangerous to other persons.
He was apprehended at 3.15pm on 8/8/19.
