Opening on Friday, August 9, 5pm, Practice While You Teach features the mixed media work of 11 current and ex-teachers in a show looking likely to become an annual event - this is its second year.
Former industrial arts teacher and show curator Steve Stafford was helping install the exhibits on Thursday, which include examples of his own love of wood turning.
Mr Stafford taught at Bega High for around 27 years while also having his own gallery in Cobargo.
Now a member of the Spiral Gallery collective he's looking forward to showcasing the creative talents of his fellow educators.
The exhibition was initiated to celebrate the creative output of BHS staff beyond the classroom, as well as to challenge the artists to keep at their creative art practices even in the face of the growing demands of their day job.
Practice While You Teach will run until August 28 at Spiral Gallery, 47 Church St.
Exhibiting artists are: Retired staff Nancy Brunton, Helen Neeson, Steve Stafford, and current staff Chris Blewett, Breony Delforce, Judith de Vere, Jane Dwyer, Mark Friend, Tanja Riese, Donald Green and Guy Sterling.
