National Missing Persons Week 2019 will be held from the August 4-10.

The annual event raises community awareness of the issues and impacts surrounding missing persons.

National Missing Persons Week is coordinated by the National Missing Persons Coordination Centre through the Australian Federal Police with the support of State and Territory police.

It aims to raise awareness of the significant issues associated with this phenomena leading to a reduction in the incidence and impact of missing persons in Australia.

There are a number of missing persons cases along the South Coast you might be able to provide police with information including Gordon Andrews and teenager Kathleen Harris in the Shoalhaven, Elizabeth Hallahan at Tuross Head, Peter Jeacle of Tomakin, Raymond Speechley of Dalmeny and Renee Aitken and Garry Verrall both from Narooma

Gordon Andrews was admitted to the Culburra Retirement Village on Monday, December 10, 2012 and went missing from the facility two days later, Wednesday, December 12 at about 3pm.

Mr Andrews was 79 at the time and would now be aged 86.

He suffers from short term memory loss and had been displaying the early signs of alzheimers.

He is described as being 173cm, grey to white hair, wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue shorts and runners.

He has been known to wander off in the past and had been located in Goulburn and Bankstown areas.

Kathleen Harris, aged 16, was last seen at her home in Huskisson by a friend about 9pm on May 31, 1999.

She had planned to meet with friends the following day but never arrived.

Her personal belongings, including her purse and keys, were located in her home, and family and friends have not heard from her since she went missing.

Police are treating her disappearance as suspicious and have not ruled out that Kathleen may have been murdered.

She is described as 160cm, a slim, brown hair and olive complexion.

She would now be aged 34.

Tuross Head woman Elizabeth Hallahan was last seen on December 13, 2017 when she left her friend's house at Nelson Parade.

The 56-year-old stated she was going to Tuross Beach. Her vehicle was found opposite Coila Beach about 7pm that night.

Her clothing was located about 1km north of Coila beach.

She has not been heard from and there are serious concerns for her safety and welfare.

She is described as 165cm, medium build, brown hair, hazel eyes and fair complexion.

Peter Jeacle, aged 62, was last seen by his daughter at 12.30am on January 17, 2010 at his residence in Tomakin Place, Tomakin.

Peter possibly left home between 12.30am and 3.30am on foot and took his wallet, mobile phone and the house phone with him.

There was an alleged sighting of Peter at the Waterfront Hotel Moruya on January 20, 2010.

Peter has not been seen or made contact with family or friends since he went missing.

He is described as 180cm, medium build, brown hair, hazel eyes and medium complexion and has scar on top of head and left temple.

Raymond Speechley was last seen on July 7, 2016 around Dalmeny, at about 3:50pm.

He had wandered away from a nearby nursing home he was staying at the time of his disappearance.

He would now be aged 79.

Raymond is described as causasian, 180cm, medium build, grey hair, blue eyes and fair complexion.

Renee Aitken, age 5 years, was last seen by her mother on the evening February 16, 1984, in bed at her family home in Narooma.

When her mother went to check on Renee at 4am the next morning she was missing.

It is believed Renee was abducted from her room in the early hours of February 17, 1984, by an unknown individual.

She would now be aged 41.

She was described as 91cm, thin build, blond hair, blue eyes and fair complexion.

Garry Verrall, was last seen leaving his unit in Narooma on the morning of Wednesday, January 24 2018.

He stated he was going to the Tilba area and would return the following day.

He has not been seen since.

He would now be aged 64 and is described as causasian, 175cm, thin build, white hair, blue eyes, fair complexion and has distinguishing features of small tattoos on his lower right arm.

A missing person is defined as, anyone who is reported missing to police, whose whereabouts are unknown, and there are fears for the safety or concern for the welfare of that person.

A long-term missing person is someone who has been missing for more than three months. In Australia there are more than 2,600 people listed as a long term missing person.
