Construction has begun more than 12 months after the scenic lookout was destroyed during the tragic March 2018 bushfire, and five years after the Tathra Headland Wharf Access Group began lobbying for improved infrastructure.
Bega's Scott Dowdle said his GDB Excavations and Landscaping crew have been hard at work beginning construction of the walkway from the wharf.
He said he is expecting all work to be completed by the middle of December this year.
"It's great. It's certainly a great project to be involved in, and it's certainly going to be spectacular for locals and tourists," Mr Dowdle said.
