"I'm pretty excited that I made it!" Molly Carr said.
"I struggle to have a job because of my training so my parents pay for everything.
"I'm really thankful to my parents because without them I wouldn't be playing at this level."
The Bega High School student found out she was selected last week and was straight into training, starting in Canberra on last Sunday, as the game will be held in Sydney next month.
After moving from Narooma to Bega Molly started playing as a second rower with the Red Falcons and said her career in union had taken off this year as she has been playing with the 10s in the Canberra Royals, which she thought grabbed the attention of the Brumbies' selectors.
A love of rugby union runs in her family, as her brother Oscar plays with the under 15s Brumbies.
"Me and my brother are really competitive!" the 16-year-old said.
"He played league so I wanted to so something so I played union, then he changed codes to union as well.
"He plays as a flanker like me too."
There is only one game for the ACT Brumbies Schoolgirls extended squad, which is against the NSW CHS schoolgirls on August 8, but a few weeks after that Molly said the Brumbies 7s starts and she hoped to be selected for that team.
It is Molly's dream to make the women's squad the Super W then to join the Wallaroos and play for Australia, but said she is "only young so has a bit to go".
"I like to prove my size. Because I am only small I like that union is meant for all sizes, and I really enjoy how everyone is accepted," she said.
She said she liked that more women were playing rugby union, as the sport was traditionally dominated by men.
"I watch my brother's matches and there's not much difference between the boys and the girls," she said.
"The boys are structured while the girls throw themselves into it."
She wanted to thank her mentors Tayla Stanford and Steph who were in the Super W.
