The Scouts are bringing the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the region. The Scouts thought this "doughnut drive" might generate some interest as a mid-winter treat and help them raise money towards a new bus.
1st Cobargo Scouts leader Stuart Meyers explained the group's young members attend schools in Bega, Quaama, Cobargo, Bermagui, Tilba and Narooma.
"A key to our success is that we are able to offer members the chance to attend camps and other events all over the South Coast and Tablelands region and beyond. The high participation rates at camps is largely due to the old Scout bus," he said.
"Without a bus we need parents to drive Scouts to camps and many parents simply don't have the time.
"Unfortunately the current bus recently reached 500,000km and is not in great shape and it's time for a new one".
The Scouts plan to make a new bus a community resource, available for use by other community organisations in the area.

"Doughnuts alone won't get us a new bus, but every little bit helps," leader Michelle Bonomi said.
Doughnuts will be available for collection from Cobargo, Bega and Bermagui on Friday, August 16. Orders can be placed via www.cobargoscouts.org.au before July 31.
