Boyle played a commanding role in Australia's 34-5 victory over Japan during last week's first Test at Newcastle.

After the game, head coach Dwayne Nestor lauded Boyle's efforts, but said the day will come when the national vice-captain has to make a decision on which football code to pursue.

As well as being named for the Wallaroos, Boyle played for the NSW Blues in the recent NRL Women's State of Origin, drawing plenty of praise from her coach and commentators.

Nestor has only made two changes to his starting XV for this Friday's match against Japan at North Sydney Oval.

Lori Cramer has been brought on to the wing, with Eva Karpani promoted to the starting front row. Christina Sekona from Queensland is in line to make her debut via the bench.

Australia will be chasing a maiden Test series win on home soil this Friday night.

"It's been a great week for us in camp and the more time we spend together, the more you can see our combinations growing," Nestor said.

"Japan asked a lot of questions of us last week, especially in that first half and we know that they will come out firing this Friday.

"For this team it's about responding to that challenge and making sure we stick to our structures and plans.

"The team enjoyed being back out on the park last week and there is a real energy in the group to pull the jersey on and get back out there this Friday."
