The installation at Bega's Gipps St carpark is thanks to a partnership between Bega Valley Shire Council and NRMA.
Council expects the station to be working in August and an official opening is also planned for that month.
This charger is part of a larger NRMA network of fast chargers emerging throughout NSW that will support the transition to electric vehicles.
Council is advocating for further electric vehicle chargers to be installed in the shire to open up more access and provide certainty to the owners of such vehicles, including tourists.
