The man was convicted by Bega Local Court magistrate Doug Dick in June last year after pleading guilty to viciously assaulting his partner at their South Coast home in April last year.
Corrective Services NSW allege the man has since breached the conditions of the two year sentence.
Court documents on his assault last year for which he was convicted and sentenced reveal the man was under the influence of and alcohol and diazepam when he threw a knife at his partner before pushing her while she was attempting to put the couple's baby to sleep.
The man then chased her through the house before smashing her mobile phone, punching her twice in the face and grabbing her around the throat.
Documents reveal the woman "feared he wouldn't stop squeezing", before she managed to contact NSW Police.
The man then pulled down his pants and stabbed himself in the leg with a paring knife, before telling her he would tell police she had assaulted him.
"You'll be done. I'll take you down," he said.
The woman then left the house with the couple's child and waited for police to arrive.
When police arrived the woman was bleeding "profusely", and the man told police she had allegedly stabbed him during an altercation.
Both were taken in separate ambulances to hospital, where the man refused to allow staff to treat his wound before being charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Twelve months into the man's two-year sentence, it is alleged he is failing to obey the bond directives set down by Corrective Services NSW.
The man did not appear in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, June 25 and magistrate Doug Dick adjourned the matter to Bega local Court on Tuesday, August 13.
