A man has been charged with drug possession and other offences following a pursuit near Bega.

About 12.20pm on Wednesday, June 19, officers from Bega Highway Patrol were travelling east on Snowy Mountains Hwy at Morans Crossing when they saw a vehicle allegedly travelling over 140kmh.
Officers indicated for the driver to stop, but when they did not a pursuit was started then terminated shortly after for safety reasons.
About 2.40pm the vehicle was seen by police travelling north along the Monaro Hwy near Bombala. The pursuit resumed, but was again terminated.
About 2.55pm police received information the vehicle had travelled west through Nimmitabel.
Road spikes were deployed by police at Rock Creek on the Monaro Hwy and the man was arrested shortly after.
The 23-year-old man from Benandarah was taken to Cooma District Hospital for blood/urine samples and a health assessment.
He was released from hospital and taken to Cooma Police Station.
The man was charged with three counts of police pursuit - drive dangerously, possess prohibited drug, and licence and registration offences.
He was also charged with two outstanding warrants relating to robbery and failing to comply with a corrections order.
He was refused bail and will appear at Cooma Local Court on Thursday, June 20.
