Plethora of Postcards opens this Friday, with 400 entries already received and more trickling in.
One of the themes is iconic Australiana, which was a success last year, and there will also be a 3D section for all ages.
For this category the base must be postcard size, but there is no limit to its height - so organisers have asked artists to challenging them with the scale of their works.
"Theoretically it could be up to the ceiling!" Spiral Gallery Collective member David Stocker said.
He said one of his favourite parts of the exhibition was the range of entries from different entrants that were drawn to it, for instance Tulgeen clients and school students, as well as the "odd things" that popped up, such as one entry this year which is made from beeswax.
"You get established artists and you get new people who think it may be too much to do a large artwork, but can do a postcard," he said.
He said the small, postcard-sized artworks meant many were able to fit into the gallery, or on someone's wall at home, and due to their size they were also affordable which made them appealing to people looking to buy new art.
"It's a format that people are very, very familiar with," Mr Stocker said.
"Postcards have been used a lot to encapsulate 'wish you were here'. It fits our psyche somehow."
Exhibition team coordinator Claudia Tasche said entries had been made of mediums such as felt, fabric, wax, paint, glass, pencil, paint, stone, wood and shells.
"If you want to do something on a small scale you might need to work with small pieces, which might be a challenge," she said.
Plethora of Postcards opens on Friday, June 21 at 5pm at Spiral Gallery, Bega.
The exhibition runs to July 16. Sales start after the opening due to the popularity of the artworks.
