The Tigers went on to claim the result over CBU 14-6 after leading 10-0 before the break.
Nikki Ainsworth was the sole try-scorer for the Panthers with some good attacking runs down the left edge to put the visitors under pressure on a number of occasions.
Unfortunately, the Bay Tigers had been able to exploit a couple of gaps early in the piece with breakaway runners proving tricky to chase down.
An improved defensive effort from the Pink Panthers slowed the visitors in the second half, but the Pink Panthers found themselves a little short of attacking options as the Tigers also posted a formidable defensive line.
The reserve grade Panthers had a bye over the weekend, while the Pink Panthers will have a rest in round 10 with the reserves outfit heading to Jindabyne to meet the Bears.
The clubs portability partner - the Bulldogs - defeated the Bay in first grade.
