Recently winning the division premiership, the team ventured to Moruya last Sunday to compete in the zone final against the highly favoured Milton-Ulladulla squad.
The Bega squad won the toss and fired to a good start, giving a vocal band of supporters something to cheer about.
Bega had built to an 11-shot lead by the 21st end.
Howard Blacker, Michael Haigh, Ross Elliott and Jason Heffernan led 12-4, while Richard Cock, Tony Hanscombe, Andrew Warby and Neville Cowling were up 8-4 and Reg George, Neil Holzhauser, Poppa Jauncey and Merv Howell trailed just 4-5.
As the game progressed, Bega held the advantage to win 66 to 55.
Howard Blackers team won 29 shots to 11. Richard Cock's rink had a draw 21-21 draw. Reg George's rink went down 16 to 23.
The Division 6 team were in the hunt for another Premiership right up to the final bowl of the season. They fell short by half a point.
