Eden Police Sergeant Scott Blanch said the alleged discovery came as a result of a standard vehicle stop on the Princes Highway south of Eden on Saturday, May 18.
"The man was pulled over around 8.45pm. Police searched the motor vehicle which he was driving and seized 246 abalone, 214 were undersized," Sergeant Blanch said.
The normal bag limit of abalone is two abalone per person.
The man will appear at the Eden Local Court on Wednesday, July 3, charged with aggravated possession of more than the daily bag limit of abalone and possession of undersized abalone.
