The Maroons hammered the visiting Sharks 40-14 in the top grade, knocking the Sharks out of top two contention, while also propelling the home club to fourth on the competition table {on for and against).
The Sea Eagles out-muscled their northern visitors in a game where some of the big men were highlighted with Declan Bower-Scott scoring a scintillating pair of tries.
Luke Dowdle and Jess Hoyland-Meaker had both crossed for individual four pointers, while Ben Crowley after scoring a double in reserves previously played at the halves in the firsts and joined the try-scorers in the number six jumper.
Tathra also unleashed Jared Cole in the number nine where Cole continues to shine as one of [this sport reporter's] favourite people for the job.
Cole was previously influential in the Bulldogs' first grade success and could help direct play for Tathra as they rise the competition ranks this season.
Brenton Mace was also among the try-scorers in another good run where he showed grit and determination against one of the competition's most fancied teams this season.
The Sea Eagles also managed six from seven attempts with the boot as James Bower-Scott bagged four and Josh Finucane slotted two between the posts.
The first grade win was a wonderful highlight for the club, which had suffered losses in the earlier league-tag and reserve grade games.
The Phoenix went down 34-0 to the Sharkettes in the league-tag competition, while Tathra's seconds had lost 24-10 to the visiting Sharks.
This weekend the Sea Eagles will again get the chance to delight home-ground fans when they host the Batemans Bay Tigers at the Tathra Beach Country Club ground on Sunday.
Again there will be clashes in the three senior grades with reserves from noon. League-tag at 1.30pm and firsts at 2.30pm.
In other games, the Roosters will be looking to continue their undefeated run when they host the Bombala Blue Heelers at the Bega Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Heelers are coming off the back of a 26-22 defeat to the Blue Heelers (who hold the edge over Bega on for and against) and a big win could see the tri-colours surpassing their southern rivals to lead the draw outright.
The 18s will have a bye with three senior games scheduled to run on the day. League-tag runs from 2pm, reserves at 3pm and first grade at 4.30pm.
