Despite Tathra's best efforts, the Diggers have maintained their run at the top of the ladder, downing the Tathra side at Lawrence Park 16-11-107 to 5-4-29.
After the two clubs traded a single goal early to level peg at 6-6 it was Merimbula firing to the front with a 40-point opening quarter where the Sea Eagles just couldn't keep pace.
The Diggers simply had too many strong options, Daniel Worden and Dylan Jordan provided long-range reach out of the half-back line to work the ball straight up front where Dan Edwards was unflappable.
Through the middle, Noah Martyn was covered heavily, but still found room to break away.
Edwards, Jak Howker and Matt Molkentin all bagged three goals for the visiting Diggers, while Tathra's Troy O'Loghlin showed wonderful passages of agility and accuracy to lead scoring for the home team with his two goals.
