The Art of Ageing touring exhibition comprises 30 images taken by five photographers from regional NSW. Each photograph is accompanied by a short story highlighting the subject's experiences and reflections on ageing.
The exhibition is presented by South East Arts as part of its Arts and Health program. This travelling exhibition will also have a local flavor, with South East Arts commissioning photographer Angi High to create portraits of seniors living in the Bega Valley region.
The NSW Government commissioned the Art of Ageing exhibition to highlight the incredible lives of seniors and promote inclusive communities for all generations.
Minister for Seniors John Sidoti said the exhibition aims to challenge perceptions of ageing and demonstrate the diversity and experiences of older people across the state.
The Art of Ageing opens at Spiral Gallery, 47 Church St, Bega on Friday, May 3, 2pm. It will run until May 22.
