With the apparent demise of the local RSPCA branch, and no official word from head office as to its future, the Animal Welfare League is felling the pressure to reinstate its cat and kitten service on the Far South Coast.
Welfare officer Wendy Cook said AWLFSC knows of "so many" cats and kittens being surrendered or rescued in the district, and volunteer carers are urgently needed. Ms Cook said AWLFSC will provide most things needed to look after the animals prior to adoption, including "cat condos", litter trays, toys, food bowls and food thanks to donations the branch receives. Vet work is also covered by the branch.
