There have been reports of a person knocking on doors in Bega claiming to be collecting for the Salvation Army, but head of the local Salvos Rod Parsons said it's not his team.
Be alert as they may look official, but if anyone comes to your door asking for donations to the Salvation Army, Rod said to call Bega Police with a description immediately on 6492 9999.
The official Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal is not until late May.
