Six participants learnt the gentle art of weaving, using Rigid Heddle looms, some of which were purchased thanks to a grant from the Mumbulla Foundation.
Colours were selected, textures discussed and the new weavers were away, making in a day a scarf to wear and be proud of.
This was only the first of three workshops planned and offered to anyone affected by the fires in the region.
A second day is planned for Bemboka and is to be held in the Bemboka Community Hall on May 4. The third workshop, to be located at the Old Bega Hospital, is yet to be finalised.
Anyone interested in booking a place for the Bemboka workshop should contact Corina Deneve at corina.deneve@gmail.com or 6492 8486.
