In the next few months the preschool hope to have their Moodji Farm up and running. Everyone is invited to the preschool's free thermal composting workshop from 10am - 12pm at 3 Young St (behind Bermagui Preschool).
The compost will be used in the cultivation of 12 terraced seasonal farm and cultural bushfood beds.
The workshop will be co-presented by permaculture educator and Moodji project officer, Dan Bakker and Fogo operations coordinator Mick Yarra.
Mr Bakker said thermal composting has plenty of environmental benefits.
"This ancient method converges problematic waste materials, structure, carbon ratios and process to swiftly generate heat and in turn creating a biologically-rich yet weed-seed and pathogen free compost," he said.
"Given community composting has come a long way Mick and I are expecting to teach advanced composting for absolute beginners."
The composting event is free and will conclude with an overview of the Moodji Farm project and site tour.
Tea, coffee and a sausage sizzle will be provided.
Bring your gloves, hat and any bulk organics for composting (ie. garden and food waste, paper or manures)

The event is sponsored by Bermagui Preschool, BVSC Waste and Recycling, Mumbulla Foundation and Merrimans Local Area Lands Council
