We're not asking politicians to get on a podium.
- Clean Energy For Eternity founder and president Matthew Nott
Clean Energy For Eternity president Matthew Nott said he hopes residents from across the region can attend.
"I think this meeting comes at a very exciting time when renewable energy is affordable, there's community interest and we have the chance to show leadership," he said.
"It's a real time to change and take control of our future when it comes to job security and energy security. We are focusing on using local expertise.
"Rather than purchasing energy from the Hunter Valley we are going to do it ourselves and keep money in the community."
Mr Nott said a vote will be held on whether to put the 2030 target to a Bega Valley Shire Council vote.
Earlier this year the community of Tathra voted to adopt the target of complete renewable energy use over the next ten years.
"This forum is not a political forum," Mr Nott said.
"We're not asking politicians to get on a podium.
"They are welcome but they can sit at the back and listen to what we have to say."
The meeting will be held at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre on Tuesday, March 19 from 6pm, with guest presenter and founding director of the Institute for Sustainable Futures Dr Mark Diesendorf.
"It is a privilege to have Mark talk, and it's recognition we are doing a good thing," Mr Nott said.
"It will be an honour to have him here."
