Tathra Land Care (TLC) had a working bee last Thursday on the Tathra headland with BVSC's Andrew Morrison. TLC 's main work is bitou bush control in Tathra
However, because of the bushfire the group has had to alter its working bees. Last year members spent most of their time on vegetation rehabilitation and removing rubbish from burnt out locations.
Last Thursday, 12 TLC volunteers spent a few hours on Tathra headland removing weeds from the recently replanted areas around the memorial gardens. There were plenty of weeds to deal with, and the group concentrated on those that had grown inside the white protective covers. There were a lot of native plants that look like weeds that were left to mature.
This weeding was in preparation for another planting on the headland on Sunday, March 17. If you wish to participate it will start at 9.30am and go to 11am. You will need gloves, work clothes, hat and water. There will be a bus shuttle from Taylor Square at 9am.
