To introduce new girls to Guiding, which helps build self esteem and leadership qualities, we are having a "Come and try" night on Tuesday, March 19, from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Girls and their parent are invited to the night to find out more about what Guiding is.
Just a "sample" of what Guiding provides will be shown on the night.
The Active Kids voucher can be used for Guide memberships. For more information ring Anne on 0411281434.
Make a scarf day
Bega Valley Weavers, with a grant from Mumbulla Foundation, are running a 'Make a Scarf in a Day' workshop, on Saturday, March 30, for anyone affected by the fires in Tathra.
As you learn the simple art of hand weaving, magic is created before your eyes with your favourite colours merging into a thing of beauty, your scarf.
It's on at Kianinny Fishing Club from 10.30am to 3pm (later finish if necessary).
There is no cost. Morning and afternoon tea, looms and yarns will be provided. Participants only need to bring their lunch.
This is limited to 10 people, so book a place by contacting Chris Rogers by March 21. Phone: 649 41520 or email: rogers@netspeed.com.au.
Pet of the week
Marli the medium-sized tan and white female was a much loved pet that had to be surrendered due to her original owner's illness.
Marli loves to swim at the beach and river, is very social with dogs and people, is house trained and especially enjoys a game of fetch. She is not suitable for a home with cats or smaller pets.
Marli is lifetime registered, micro-chipped, and she has had all vaccinations etc. Inquiries to Animal Welfare League on 0400 372 609.
