It wasn't easy though after Jessie Mudaliar put the NSW Country/ACT team through to the final on the back of a cracking carnival.
Jessie cleaned up the tail end with some stunning in-swing bowling that caught the Metro players off guard, picking up two handy wickets to end the innings.
Proud dad Drew Mudaliar said Jessie was relishing every opportunity she was awarded.
"It was truly impressive what she did with a pretty dead ball," he said. "she can take away some pretty special memories from the tournament."
Jessie had earlier set up the final showdown, driving home a boundary on the last delivery against Queensland to put NSW Country through to the final.
"She's worked really hard to continue to develop and improve" Drew said. "All she can do is perform when she gets the chance and she's done that really well."
He said Jessie had been especially "focused and disciplined for the week" and he couldn't be happier with her efforts.
The wickets closed out Metro's innings for 141, but Jade's side still took home the biscuits, shutting out the plucky Country roster for 116.
Jade herself picked up two wickets - a runout and a catch - while giving away few runs in her three overs with the ball.
Both representing NSW, Drew said the two squads trained together and there was plenty of elation for the Metro side, but it was a disappointing end for the Country team.
"No doubt Jessie was happy for Jade to win it, but the girls were a bit deflated with the loss," he said.
After eight rounds, Jade's team had gone through undefeated where the young Cobargo star had contributed well.
She picked up a good haul of wickets across the opening seven rounds - including a huge result of 4/20 in the opening game - and a top score of 29 for the week.
Local cricket pundits said Jade was a "phenomenally talented" young cricketer and congratulated her on the win.
With Jessie recently turning 15, the duo will now both have their sights firmly on the 18s programs.
Drew said Jade had already been recognised by selectors as a player to watch for the future, but hoped Jessie could also make the grade.
"Hopefully coaches see her development and consider her potentital," he said.
However, both girls are eager to return home to finish off the local season.
Jade returns to her Eastlake Cricket Club in the Canberra Draw, while Jessie slots in both the Eden A grade and women's roster.
