She will exhibit alongside abstract oil paintings by her partner, Peter Jordan, and classic work by ceramicist Kay Jensen.
She holds a BA Visual Art with Honors in Print media and Drawing from ANU School of Art. She also has a BA in Cultural Heritage (Paper Conservation) from the University of Canberra and works part time as a conservator at the National Library in Canberra.
Jordan explains the motivation for his small oils: “Sometimes it was the landscape, or form coming out of the formless, at other times it was testing various ways materials worked. Sometimes I was wondering about what I was doing here in the first place, on this planet."
Ceramicist Jensen writes "Through snorkelling I have become even more aware of the beauty and balance of our fragile environment, and seek to express this in my thrown and carved ceramics. My recent work further explores the design, pattern and geometry of the natural world in and around the sea.”
Join the artists for drinks on Saturday, February 23, from 6pm.
Ivy Hill Gallery is on the coast road between Bermagui and Tathra. Open from Thursday to Sunday 10am until 5pm.
The show runs until March 17. Catalogues at www.ivyhill.com.au.
