Our branch participated in the BVSC Seniors Expo on Wednesday. It was a very successful day and a pleasure to speak and catch up with "The Valley" seniors. The Expo gave our CWA members present an opportunity to meet and discuss the many activities in our region.

Get along to the Wyndham Village Market this Sunday, February 24. The friendly atmosphere and diversity of this all-weather market keeps people coming back on the fourth Sunday of each month from 8.30am to 1pm.
Located in and around the Historic Wyndham Hall, the market is expanding with something for everyone including organic and locally produced goods, delicious homebaking, bric-a -brac, seedlings, plants and succulents, jams and preserves, herbs and spices, local lavendar products, handmade leather goods, handmade jewellry, beautiful knitted items, handcrafted birds, cards and giftware, eco products, astrology readings, books, collectibles, beautiful items made with love, rustic bits and pieces and of course Wyndhams own great coffee and more.
Support the Wyndham P&C in their fund-raising efforts for the school who will be providing good food and drinks in the kitchen for the next two markets. Stall bookings are welcome by calling Yvonne on 64 942 443
And there’s more! Have you been to JRM yet? Jingera Rock Music is an open mic, blackboard event which follows the Wyndham Village Market each month from 1pm to 5pm.
The stage is set each month to welcome musicians of all genres and abilities to share their love of music with the appreciative crowd. Held in the scenic entertainment area of the Wyndham Sportsground with the beautiful view of Jingera Rock, this event provides an opportunity for everyone to catch up in a social and relaxed atmosphere.
There’s always great food available and plenty of seating, so come along this Sunday. BYO refreshments and enjoy some catchup time among friends.
Men's Breakfast
We’re all set for another bumper breakfast get-together at St John's Anglican Church Hall, Bega, on Saturday, March 2, at the usual 8am. What a terrific time we had last breakfast, and Wassim was a most interesting and entertaining speaker.
What do you know about the wonderful world of Wales? Like most people, probably not much. We know quite a bit about Scotland, Ireland and England because of our heritage. But Wales is a fascinating little country with a rich and colourful history which, aside from rugby and male choirs, seems to fly below the radar.
We are fortunate to have our own Welshman to tell us all about it. Tudno Rees has, for sure, the legendary Welsh ‘gift of the gab‘ and will regale us with great gusto about the country of his birth. Something to look forward to.
As usual great tucker and fellowship and don’t forget to bring a mate(s) if you wish. It's an $8 donation if you can, some of which goes to our charities MAF and TEAR.
We are looking forward to catching up with you again on March 2nd.
Geneology Society
Visitors and members are invited to Bega Valley Genealogy Society’s first meeting for 2019 to be held on Sunday, February 24, at 2pm in the Masonic Hall, Canning Street, Bega. The highlight of the meeting will be an enthralling talk - Mrs Macquarie, first gardener of NSW - to be presented by accomplished speaker Meg Ward.
Planning is underway for a one-day seminar in May with sessions showing how to find the gems of information in the Australian National Library’s Trove collection and how to research Irish ancestors.
You are reminded that the Society’s library at the Old Courthouse, Pambula, has an extensive collection of Monaro and South Coast, Australian and international family history material. For details visit the website https://bvgenealogy.webhive.com.au
Community groups are welcome to use the Courthouse and its facilities for meetings, and classes etc. Enquiries Barb 0428 310 264. Liz 0264956544.
