However, the club was also buoyed by the return of the pennant season with play going ahead on Sunday.
The Far South Coast District Golfing Association season began with Bega’s three teams away playing the Merimbula-Pambula teams on the Eden course on Sunday.
Officials said in a great first outing, all three Bega teams won their opening round with division one getting a 5-0 result, division two had a 3.5-1.5 win and the seniors also scored a 3.5-1.5 margin.

In regular play, the club welcomed a strong turnout for the MGA Insurance Brokers monthly medal.
A grade was won by Mitch Bucholtz with a nett 69, while C grade was won by Keith Torpe with a nett 70.
However, the best round of the day came out of B grade with the monthly medal going to Luke Donnelly with a cracking round of nett 67.
