Officials said the warm sunshine helped ensure an excellent field of golfers turned out with representation from right across the Far South Coast and beyond.
“The Scramble is always a very tight contest and the winning team on Sunday were a suitably competitive group,” a spokesman said.
Winners were Henry Loth, David Thomson, Brendan Matters and Russell Thompson. The team played off a combined handicap of 5.38 and returned one shot clear to win with an excellent score of 55.62 nett.
In second spot came the team of Martin Fowler, Winston Fowler, Darcy Sealey and Ben Sealey playing off a combined handicap of 8.38 and returning with a not too shabby 56.62 nett.
Third placing went to Tony Crome, Adam Shiels, Michael Johnson and Andrew Ganderton playing off 5.62 and scoring 57.38 nett.
Bermagui will now send the top team through to the regional final to be held at Yowani Country Club, Canberra on March 14.
Since the event commenced in 1992, the Scramble has become Australia's largest and most successful pro-amateur teams event.
The club thanks Tarra Volkswagen in Bega for their support.
In regular play, Derek Quinto topped A grade on Thursday with plus two from David Chamberlin and Paul Rumble.
In Saturday’s round, junior champion Javana Fereti continued his good form to win on count-back from Ken Adams, both with 35 points.
Saturday is the Australia Day medley from 10am.
