The Bega Rotary Club’s Summer Book Fair has once again proved to be a hit.
“We’re delighted with the amount raised and it will be dispersed throughout our community,” the club’s president Marg Taylor said.
Funding recipients will include Tathra Surf Life Saving Club’s Nippers, a Meccano project for Bega Valley schools and a mental health project.
Three members of the large crowd happily perusing the books on Friday were sisters Lyn Barneveld and Susan McWhinney as well as their mother Tonia Jauncey of Bega.
Ms Barneveld said they had two big bags filled up with new reads so far, and she was also wheeling around a third bag.
“From a very young age we had an affinity with books, Mum read them to us after dinner” she said.
“We’ve all become collectors!”
