The popular Pambula Show returns to take over the Pambula Sporting Complex on Saturday, January 12 and as usual there is a wealth of entertainment and events to keep the whole family amused.

Take the kids and let them loose on a free jumping castle, watch Oops the Clown tie balloons in knots only to produce animal shapes, take a trip on a giant water slide or enjoy the sideshow alley .
If you love old engines check out the exhibits from Bega and District Historical Machinery Club and Bombala Historic Engine and Machinery Society or the Sapphire Coast Vintage Car Club.
There’s plenty of action with sheep shearing throughout the day and of course the popular wood chop.
If you are more interested in getting involved in some exercise take to the Base Zero 8m climbing wall and see if you can make the cut into the top 10 fastest people for a grand final later in the day. Member for Bega Andrew Constance and Pambula Surf Lifesaver Andrew Holt have already agreed to do the climb as part of the celebrity challenge.
If arts and crafts are more of interest move along to the pavilion where there will be plenty to see from local artists, photographers, crafts people, gardeners and cooks.
Check out the racing pigs or try your hand at oyster shucking (and tasting) but don’t forget the dog high jump. From the littlest and cutest to the largest and most athletic, they are all welcome and audience encouragement is obligatory.
The show has always had a strong attendance for the equestrian events and this year there will be a special trophy for the Champion Ridden Australian Stock Horse.
The Jan High Memorial Trophy is in honour of Jan High who passed recently. Jan was a remarkable woman in so many ways, not least her love of horses. Jan had a strong dedication to the stock horse breed, pony and dressage clubs.
She had a willingness to help all riders both young and mature in all disciplines and this helped to make Jan a well-known and respected horsewoman from the district.
As usual there will be plenty of food stalls. Family ticket (two adults, two children) $25, $10 for an adult, children and concessions $6 with under sevens free.
Gates open from 8am for equestrian events and spectators and stallholders and from 9.30am for the general public.
