Despite choppy seas and some strong winds, Merimbula Big Game and Lake Angling Club officials said a haul of 52 bags were caught.
All proceeds from the day will go to the Merimbula Marine Rescue.
Flathead remained the staple for the day, but some bags of snapper also proved popular.
Congratulations to Graham Bywaters who took out the Club’s $300 Tackle World voucher for the heaviest total weight of ocean flathead overall. Martin Bartlett won Saturday’s $250 Tackle World voucher and Joe Bragg the Sunday prize.
Maggie Van Der Torren won the prize for the heaviest bag of ocean flathead by a lady on Saturday and Heather Sutterby on Sunday. Palla Di Donato won the heaviest bag of mixed fish for Saturday and Garry Huggett the Sunday prize.
Kade Thornhill won the Juniors $100 Lake View Hotel voucher for ocean flathead and on Sunday this prize was taken out by Evelyn Robinson. In the estuaries Alex Bell won the juniors heaviest bag of estuary fish.
The club supports catch and release and a new bream and dusky prize were held by bragmat photo.
Ellie Sky Dulhunty won the Junior bream prize, while Tara Stone won the longest dusky flathead prize for Saturday and Grant Regan on Sunday. Junior longest dusky flathead was won on both days by Kade Thornhill.
Town cryer Alan Boyce opened the gala on Sunday with the talent quest with Lilly Dixon and Sophie Thom taking the prize for their rendition of Umbrella by Rhianna.
The annual kayak and paddle board raffle draw followed the auction; First prize was won by Craig Johnson of Berridale, second by Christine Fitzgerald and third prize by Osman Arifoglu.
Offshore the first Marlin of the season have arrived in our waters with some in as close as 40 fathoms.
Ocean flathead both sand and tiger are on the chew off Merimbula, Tura Beach, Bournda Island and Tathra, try 20-22 Fathoms. Snapper and morwong are in good form on our local reefs.
At the Tathra Wharf large kingfish are on the prowl and at the Merimbula Fishing Platform calamari squid are back and some large ones landed. Best results after dark.
Fish in the Merimbula Lake remain active. Dusky flathead, bream, trevally and whiting are available. Good tailor are prolific at Pambula Lake.
The clubhouse at Spencer Park will be open from 6.30pm on Friday, all are welcome.
