The headline race at the Tathra Cup meet at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club, Nisbet launched a rousing final dash to the line to outdo race favourite Living Doll ridden by Patrick Scorse.
The victory for Nisbet was just one of many highlights during the club’s seven race-card that was well attended by a large gathering of visitors to the area.
Many showed up with a touch of Hawaiian flair to match the theme for the family-focus race day with officials saying they had more than 1000 through the gate.
Nisbet backed up her result in Race five where she rode Smart Remark to a golden finish, while Jess Taylor made four appearances on the podium.
Her results included one win, riding Georgian Court to the front in Race four.
No one trainer stood out more than any other, but Nick Olive did enjoy a first and third place finish in the same race for horses out of his stable.
Luma Lad and Larmour both reached the pointy end of the field in race seven.
Racegoers weren’t deterred by mid-afternoon storm warnings with the weather waiving off as visitors enjoyed warm and breezy conditions.
Club officials said it was great to welcome all the visitors on the day and award the best dressed with fashions on the field.
The club said all eyes would now turn to the club’s annual feature meet, the Bega Cup Carnival, which will run for two days in February.
Last year the carnival was worth almost half a million dollars in prizes.
