Kicking off at 3pm, the afternoon will entail live music, fun and a BBQ at the Ingenia Holidays Ocean Lake caravan park at Wallaga Lake.
The Ocean Lake Extravaganza is aiming to boost the profile of the wonderful and hardworking volunteer organisations in the community.
Phil Baldwin of the Wallaga Lake-Bermagui Men’s Shed said, “it will be a full-on afternoon and pretty action-packed”.
“It is also an event to promote the different not-for-profit organisations we have in the community,” he said.
To name a few, volunteers of Marine Rescue, Montreal Goldfields and Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club will be there on the day.
The Men’s Shed BBQ starts at 4pm, Mr Baldwin hopes to see both local and holiday makers attend the event.
“People are still on holidays and looking for something to do, this will be a great afternoon out,” he said.
All funds raised will be presented to the Bega Valley Can Assist (Cancer Assistance Network).
Mr Baldwin said the event is a great opportunity for not-for-profit organisations to promote themselves and explain what they do to gain future support from the community.
After eight years at Umburra Cultural Centre, Mr Baldwin said the Men’s Shed are looking for local support to help them relocate to Bermagui.
“We always like to support other not-for-profit organisations like Can Assist, although we are going to have to start raising a lot of money on our own soon, to get a bit of help to move in to Bermagui,” Mr Baldwin said.
Live music and entertainment will continue through to 7pm, bring a chair and something to drink and set up for the afternoon with family or friends.
There is also the opportunity for visiting artists to hop up on stage and perform a song or two.
