She went to the George Gray Centre and loved going to school. When Mum got sick she came to live with Kerry and I, then we moved to Tarraganda. Maryann just loved Tulgeen Disability Services day programs and her time at work with Stitches and Prints.
She grew into an amazing lady who loved this time of year. Many in the community were blessed by her Christmas spirit, every year she would wear her Christmas outfit and inspired many a person while wearing it. She truly believed and no-one could tell her any different.
She loved her family so much and loved spending time with them. I want to thank Tulgeen for giving her the best life she had in the Valley.
Thanks also to the people who helped out after the death of my sister, best friend, the love of my husband, his brother Mick and best friend Paul. Without these men in Maryann’s life it would have been very plain, but these wonderful men taught her life, they took her everywhere with them and that was no mean feat.
I want to thank the ambulance officers on that awful night, thank you for being so patient with us, for your caring kindness. We also want to thank police officer Matt, you made that horrible morning bearable, you sat with us, talked with us and just was the most caring person who meet us for the first time at that early hour of the morning, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Maryann was a beautiful young lady who inspired me every day with her wit, her crankiness and her love. We miss her very much and we know that she is in better hands now, she is with her mother who she missed so very much.
So even though you won’t see her around with her Christmas outfit in her wheelchair, please remember to be thankful at Christmas time and remember the true meaning of Christmas and you all will honour her with your memories of her.
Once again thank you to all of you that touched her life and all that she loved so very much. Thank you from Kristina and Kerry Walker.
