Confessed paedophile Maurice Van Ryn will face court next year accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a teenage boy in Tathra between 2010 and 2012.
Sixty-three-year-old Van Ryn, who is currently serving a sentence of 13 years and six months in Cessnock Correctional Centre for child sex offences committed against nine victims over an 11-year period, is facing six fresh child sex allegations.
The new charges include two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a person aged between 14 and 16 and one count of indecent assault of a person under the age of 16.
Van Ryn did not appear in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, December 18, when the matter was heard.
Magistrate David O’Connor adjourned the matter to Bega Local Court on January 29 next year for charge certification.
