A number of Far South Coast grounds were pelted by driving rains while thunderstorms played out overhead from the mid afternoon on the weekend.
Kameruka was the only field played with the Black Cockatoos hosting South Eurobodalla and were able to secure a surprise victory over the third-placed outfit.
The Cockatoos mustered 110 runs from their 40 overs, with a middle over stand headed by Alap Patel helping reach the target.
Kameruka had dropped some cheap early wickets, but Patel batted out 28, while David Schumann added 19 and Rasheed Khan chimed in with a handy 24.
In reply Dean Friskin opened for 22, while Elijah Blair had a capable tail end run of 23, but the Pirates’ top and middle orders completely stumbled, including a pair of ducks.
The Pirates were all-out in just 17 overs for the meagre total of 78 runs – more than 30 short of the required.
The weekend was a disheartening finish to the opening half of competition with about a quarter of all scheduled top grade games falling by the wayside in 2018.
13 of 50 scheduled premier division games have been canned due to poor weather meaning 26 per cent of clashes never even got on the pitch.
Clubs had been looking to the weekend as a last hitout before the break for the Christmas period with competition not set to return until January 12.
The competition table remains unchanged after round 10.
