At Bega there were hailstones bigger than golf balls.
As predicted by independent weather man Dennis Luke on December 11, the cyclone-like system was set to produce “choppy seas and a pretty horrible 48 hours of weather” according to Mr Luke.
There were reports of lines down near the RSL Club and a tree down near Top Fun.
There have been reports of cars damaged included smashed windscreens through the intense hail and damage to homes.
However some of the extreme weather was very localised and as the storm slid out across the coast at Merimbula, other locations such as Nethercote 18 km south just had a few rumbles of thunder.
