Last week, Bega had the third-most expensive average diesel price out of over 50 locations across NSW, coming in at 162.6cents per litre.
It was only beaten by Glen Innes and Port Macquarie, with the former’s average price for diesel hitting 164.9cents.
This was reported in NRMA’s most-recent weekly petrol report which, through Bowser Buster, monitored the average prices for unleaded and diesel at 57 locations over the week to December 9.
In Bega the average price of diesel was in fact higher the previous week, which ended on December 2, where it reached 163.1cents.

The average regular unleaded price in the town for last week was 155.8cents, a slight drop from 156.1cents the week before.
According to the NSW government’s FuelCheck, on Tuesday, December 11 most of the regular unleaded prices in Bega had decreased from last week’s average.
At the Caltex Bega Depot in North Bega, the Caltex Woolworths on Gipps St and the Caltex Bega on Newtown Rd, unleaded 91 was 149.9cents per litre.
But at the Coles Express on Swan St, it jumped to 159.9cents.

When it came to diesel, at Caltex Bega Depot it sat at 149.9cents, at Caltex Bega it was 155.9cents and at Coles Express Bega it was 168.9cents.
On Tuesday, the cheapest regular unleaded petrol in the Bega Valley could be found at Enhance in Tathra where it was 135.9cents, while Caltex Bega Depot had the cheapest price for diesel.
The Australian Institute of Petroleum reported the terminal gate price for unleaded in Sydney on Tuesday was 115.1cents per litre as well as 125.6cents for diesel.
