On Sunday, from 7pm, Bega Park will host a barbecue by the local Girl Guides and carol singing from 8pm. The Bega District Band will be playing, while a choir made up of 30 local primary school children as well as a choir of combined churches representatives provide the carol singing.
Candles both real and battery powered will be for sale, with proceeds going to the Salvation Army.
Santa will be paying a visit and there’s talk of a treasure hunt around the park for children.
The event is being touted as a “traditional community carols night” as is being organised by Candy McVeity and John Watkin, with the backing of the Bega Chamber of Commerce.
The Bega Pool is opening its toilet facilities as well as its candy bar, with the pool grounds fully supervised for the event. BYO rug or chairs. No alcohol or glass is permitted.
