Volunteers led by Terry Kirby ran a morning coaching session, then the boats rigged up for two pointscore races.

Congratulations to Rob and Sian Morton, who won both races on their MG14, maintaining their perfect score of wins in the series.

They took full advantage of their trapeze and spinnaker to power upwind and fly down the reaches.

Terry Kirby came second in both races, ahead of Neil Fisher, who was third in both. This represents a triumph for Terry, because in the past Neil won their duels in the stronger winds.

Missing from the action was Tony Hastings and Luca Dorrough, who made an error rigging their boat, then spent most of the afternoon sorting it out. They finally made it out, just as the Mortons finished the second race.

Terry Ubrihien won both races in the multihull division, with a fast and controlled performance. Darren Lydiard finished second, after some catastrophic catamaran calamities.

It was great to see various other sailors take to the water, enjoying the sailing but not racing.

This weekend, the club will host two handicap-start races, after a morning coaching session. Anyone with a sailing boat or sailboard is welcome to join in. Sailing lessons are free for all members and all are welcome.
