Bega Valley Parkinson’s Support Group held their last meeting for the year on November 5 with the next get-together the Christmas luncheon on December 3 at Club Sapphire. The President reported on the Parkinson’s conference he had recently attended. Members showed a keen interest in some of the new formats that are being offered to people living with Parkinson’s and they will be tried in the new year. Special thanks to the Pambula Merimbula lady golfers and the Tai Chi ladies from the SER Hospital for their regular donations to the group.
An information conference which will benefit the local community is planned for the new year it will be partly funded from a grant received from the Club Grant funds. During the year the group celebrated its 10th year since formation which was suppported by Robert Smith Furnishings. The group has seen many of their members lose their fight with Parkinson’s Disease but almost monthly new members come to our meetings and join the 100,000 Australians suffering from Parkinson’s.
