After the Bega District News reported on the closure of the Adult Migrant and English Program, the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast wanted to announce they have been conducting a Multicultural Action Group in Community (MAGIC) afternoon on the first Wednesday of each month in Bega in conjunction with Yvi Henderson from the Cooma Multicultural Centre.

Connected to this initiative is a free one-on-one literacy program for new and longer term residents, regardless of their background.
The group has over 20 students who are gaining skills as well as being mentored in other parts of their lives.
