The campaign officially runs for a week from Monday, November 12-18.
However, instead of just a week, FSCCA is beginning a month-long campaign.
Shoosh for Kids isn’t about keeping quiet at a game – it’s a reminder that, when it comes to junior sport, if you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
“Let’s keep our comments positive and keep kids coming back to sport,” the association’s junior cricket president Charles Aggenbach said.
Shoosh for Kids asks adults on the sidelines to encourage and support the children on field, but not shout or scream instructions or abuse.
Emphasise trying hard, not winning, and acknowledge good play from all sides and players. Sport should be fun.
