The event was held in Dubbo from October 25-27, with Bega’s acting captain Gerard Hanscombe saying he was happy with the result.
“It was quite good considering,” he said.
“We ran really good times but got knocked off by the eventual winners in four events, which we came second to.”
Retain fireman Trent Galli of Bega became the first person in the modern running of the event to complete the ladder practice in under seven seconds, but got knocked off by 1/100th of a second.
Mr Galli said being the first person to complete the event in under seven seconds was “unbelievable”, especially as his team had not trained for the ladder once.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all,” he said.
